“The Old Jar Pottery” was a South African pottery studio which existed in Benoni between 1953 and 1984

"Their characteristic and unique decoration of hand thrown pieces encapsulated a turquoise colour along with white used primarily as the predominant colours and then additional patterns added with black, mocha, tan and sky blue. Geometric floral and other African styles were generally their forte.

Since the studio’s closure in 1984, their art pottery has gained recognition and has become widely collectable due to its rarity."
